About Persona

Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder — but more important — than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.

We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry — that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Instacart relies on Persona to verify shoppers who onboard onto their platform before delivering groceries to your doorstep. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.

We believe that making the internet safer and more human requires a team that reflects the diverse, global nature of the people we aim to serve. We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us.

About the role

As an Associate Creative Director at Persona, you’ll be working along side design leadership to help lead our growing Brand Studio, servicing the companies creative needs and pushing forward the next iteration of our design language.

Across our website, events spaces, motion design, campaigns, collateral and swag, you’ll engage in projects at every stage, from initial concepts through production—both in a hands-on manner (we all get into the design work here) and by guiding the design team through exploration and refinement.

This role requires a high level of collaboration and the ability to manage multiple projects of different scopes across the team and company. With a rebrand having just kicked off, this is a great opportunity to help us push the visual design system and create real impact on the future of the brand. This position is based in San Francisco, with a hybrid schedule: we work in person Tuesday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do at Persona

  • Work in partnership with the brand design leadership to scope, direct and guide the design team across cross-functional projects, supporting Persona’s GTM team and product design collaborations.
  • Play an active role across the entire lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects; from kickoff and planning through design, concept development, share-outs and production.
  • Seek out ways to build brand equity and champion creative projects beyond KTLO.
  • Work to elevate the design standard within the brand team and assist in helping raise the bar for how brand is applied within product design.
  • Play an active role in building a team culture of craft, feedback and collaboration.
  • Give and solicit feedback from designers and cross-disciplinary partners.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Persona’s brand and play an integral role in how it evolves.

What you'll bring to Persona

  • A strong brand-design portfolio that demonstrates the role of concept and craft, backed by an understanding of the audience and their motivations.
  • 6+ years experience in an agency or in-house environment, with prior director or lead experience. Prior SaaS or B2B experience is a plus.
  • Passion about creating and shepherding cohesive visual design systems with an attention to detail.
  • Curiosity about pushing things beyond the status quo, always looking for ways to elevate design regardless of scale or past precedent.
  • Ability to self-start projects with minimal oversight, while accounting for proper sharing and visibility with the team.
  • Collaborative in nature, both within the department and beyond.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and timelines concurrently.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to present and speak to every aspect of a project, sometimes to the executive team.
  • Fluent in industry standard tools and creating production-ready files (we work with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Notion). Motion design and event design experience are a major plus.

Compensation & Equity

This salary range is the estimated base salary range. Base salaries are just one component of the total compensation package and are determined by a number of factors such as years of experience, expertise, qualifications and more. In addition to base salary, we offer competitive equity packages that play a big part in recognizing you for the huge impact you will have on helping us achieve our mission. Please note, the salary range is a guideline that is subject to change without notice.

Benefits and Perks

Persona offers a wide range of thoughtful and inclusive benefits for this role, including medical, dental, and vision, 3% 401(k) contribution, unlimited PTO, quarterly mental health days, family planning benefits, professional development stipends, wellness benefits, unlimited paid time off, among others. While we believe competitive compensation and benefits are a critical aspect of you deciding to join us, we do hope you consider why our core values and culture are right for you.
