Position Description:

We are seeking an accomplished and innovative Biomarker scientist at the Associate Director level to join our dynamic oncology drug development team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and executing robust biomarker strategies that support clinical trials and facilitate key decision-making in oncology drug development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of biomarker strategies for oncology clinical programs
  • Work closely with the biomarker lab and other core labs and/or CRO to lead/guide the discovery predictive, pharmacodynamic and prognostic biomarkers
  • Develop, validate, and implement fit-for-purpose biomarker assays in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable and timely data generation
  • Provide scientific leadership in the interpretation, analysis, and communication of biomarker data to internal teams, clinical partners, and regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate closely with Clinical Development, Translational Science, and Bioinformatics teams to integrate biomarker strategies with overall clinical development plans
  • Author, review, and edit biomarker sections of regulatory documents, clinical protocols, and study reports
  • Maintain a deep understanding of emerging biomarker methodologies, technologies, and industry trends to drive innovation in biomarker science

Position Requirements:

  • PhD in Biology with research experience in Cancer Biology or Oncology Translational Science
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in oncology biomarker research and clinical trials
  • Extensive experience in biomarker discovery and biomarker assay development, validation, and implementation within clinical trial settings
  • Strong expertise in data analysis methodologies, including proficiency with statistical analysis software and bioinformatics tools (e.g., R, Python, Spotfire)
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, including clinical development, regulatory affairs, and external partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in presenting complex scientific data to diverse audiences
  • Track record of scientific innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing to work onsite at least 4 days a week

The estimated base salary range for this role is $210,000 - $220,000. Actual pay will be based on a number of factors including experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for two annual cash bonuses.
