JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Drives implementation of strategic and operational objectives with significant impact on the success of pricing for product line(s) or segment(s).
- Monitors profitability of product line or segment to ensure present and future pricing strategies achieve growth and profitability objectives. Collaborates with partners in Actuarial, Reserving, Underwriting, Finance and other internal departments to exchange data and analyses of financial indicators.
- Primary point of contact and liaison with dedicate Warranty actuary staff and provides guidance and oversight for all pricing and portfolio management exercises.
- As a member of senior leadership team for Warranty and Alternative Risk business unit, provides key insights and direction on strategic and tactical matters impacting the short and long-term trajectory of the business unit. Interacts regularly with executive and senior leadership of company.
- In conjunction with Underwriting Account Management and Actuary, establishes standards regarding rate/pricing structures, including frequency of reviews, scope of review, and incorporation of review results into business actions. Serves as senior leadership point of contact for strategic client accounts in matters related to pricing and program design.
- Provides support to product line(s) or segment(s) regarding product development initiatives, portfolio reviews, regulatory rate filings, and financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Identifies and responds to emerging issues in the warranty and insurance marketplace. Partners with appropriate leadership to determine courses of action and develops and executes plans to meet objectives. Provides pricing and development support during business strategy planning process.
- Fosters innovation and empowers others to take calculated risks and continuously improve skills, efficiency, and quality of work.
- Creates a culture of ownership and accountability to drive continuous improvement.
- May participate in industry trade groups and represent the company at industry meetings.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- In depth knowledge of warranty pricing theories and practices, strong statistical modeling skills and working knowledge of a variety of warranty and alternative risk product lines.
- Relevant underwriting background and experience allowing establishment of appropriate underwriting authority within the business unit.
- Advanced communication skills which are critical to building consensus across area of influence (external and/or internal relationships), team and/or matrix environment.
- Strong analytic, decision making and leadership skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to drive results by identifying and resolving significant problems within scope of responsibility.
- Senior level knowledge of the warranty and insurance industry, its products and services.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Data Science or related field required.
- Master's Degree in related field preferred.
- Typically a minimum of 10 years of related work experience with five years of management experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge and job experience related to Warranty underwriting practices and pricing models.
