We’re looking for a compliance professional who thrives in a regulated fintech environment. You’ll work directly with customers and internal teams to support audits, validate compliance processes, and ensure KYC/AML frameworks are implemented effectively. Your work will help Astra uphold trust, meet regulatory standards, and enable customer growth.

At Astra, the Compliance Specialist will serve as a key partner for our customers in navigating compliance obligations. This person will provide audit support, perform periodic checks on customer KYC/AML processes, and ensure that methods and procedures align with Astra’s compliance framework. They will collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Engineering teams to document, review, and improve processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with financial regulations, and the ability to clearly communicate compliance expectations to customers.

• Provide direct support for customer audits, including gathering evidence, preparing reports, and answering audit-related inquiries.

• Perform periodic reviews of customer KYC/AML processes to ensure they meet Astra’s compliance standards.

• Partner with customers to validate their onboarding and monitoring methods, escalating issues when gaps are identified.

• Work closely with Compliance and Engineering teams to improve internal controls, documentation, and review workflows.

• Maintain accurate records and assist in drafting compliance documentation, policies, and procedures.

• Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, helping them navigate compliance requirements confidently.

• 1–3 years in compliance, audit support, or financial regulatory roles (fintech, payments, or banking experience a plus).

• Knowledge of KYC, AML, BSA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze customer processes for gaps and improvements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in documenting findings and preparing audit materials.

• Comfortable collaborating across Compliance, Risk, and Engineering teams.

• Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple customer evaluations simultaneously.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, or related field — or equivalent professional experience.

• Familiarity with compliance systems and customer onboarding/KYC platforms.

• Experience preparing documentation for audits or regulatory reviews.

• Ability to analyze data from customer records and reporting systems.

• Strong documentation and record-keeping practices.

• Prior experience in a compliance support or audit readiness role at a fintech, payments processor, or regulated financial institution.

• Exposure to regulatory exams or third-party audits.

• Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems and case management tools.

• CAMS or CRCM certification (or working toward certification) is a plus.

• Customer Trust: Be on the front line, ensuring Astra’s integrations run seamlessly and customers feel supported.

• Product Reliability: Investigate and resolve technical issues that directly impact uptime and performance.

• Onboarding Success: Play a critical role in providing integration support to ensure new customer launches are smooth, fast, and reliable.

• Knowledge Sharing: Create documentation and insights that empower customers and reduce friction.

• Feedback Loop: Bridge customer needs and engineering innovation to shape Astra’s future solutions.

• Customer Trust: Help Astra customers demonstrate robust KYC/AML programs and maintain regulatory compliance.

• Audit Readiness: Ensure customers are prepared for regulatory exams and external audits with accurate, thorough documentation.

• Risk Management: Identify and escalate gaps in compliance processes that could introduce risk.

• Operational Excellence: Support continuous improvements in Astra’s compliance frameworks and playbooks.

• Partnership: Serve as a bridge between customers, Compliance, and Engineering, ensuring aligned and effective compliance practices.
