Sage Intacct is a cloud-based accounting software that provides users with instant access to information and answers from within the product. Our searchable, browsable help system -along with release notes, user interface text, and other messaging - empowers and supports our users. We are looking for a Documentation Manager to help maintain and extend our quality commitment as we grow and expand.

As Documentation Manager, you will oversee a team of technical writers in creating highly usable, contextual content that supports our users' ability to self-service their information needs. You will work with the Product Documentation Manager, as well as other leaders and cross-functional teams, to understand product priorities and customer needs. Supervising the advanced applications writing team, you will ensure that content milestones are met for quarterly releases and other deliverables.

Leveraging your background in content strategy and team management, you will guide the writers' efforts and help sustain our culture of continuous improvement and innovation as we focus on customers' ease of learning.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of writers in creating high-quality user assistance, release notes, and other product content.
  • Work with the Product Documentation Manager and cross-functional teams to understand priorities, vision, and roadmap.
  • Prioritize efforts and oversee schedules to ensure timely delivery of quarterly release content and targeted improvements.
  • Provide input to writers on content strategy, timelines, and plans.
  • Work with the Documentation leadership team to drive process improvements to ensure the team is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other Documentation leaders, including strategic leads for global content, developer content, release communications, and design/usability for help systems.
  • Oversee employee performance, including individual writer goals and performance reviews.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years managing writers on a high-performance team.
  • Confidence and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment, with multiple initiatives and deliverables.
  • 5+ years previous experience as a technical writer, with proven ability to drive content strategy.
  • Experience with complex, multi-faceted software.
  • Well-honed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to promote teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Experience with task-based writing principles.
  • Proficiency in help authoring tools, such as MadCap Flare, is a plus.
  • Experience with accounting or financial solutions is desirable.
  • Familiarity with globalization and localization is preferred.
