The Role:
Carrot Fertility is seeking a Global Medical Writer. The main role will be to assist in the production of articles for publication, including internal documents, articles, and external-facing educational pieces. Reading and researching literature on topics associated with reproductive, infertility, and pregnancy health will be required. Expectations are that literature sources will come from scientific, peer-reviewed articles that can be found within medical or scientifically related national or international magazines and journals.
The Team:
As part of a collaborative and growing global Medical Team, you will assist our physicians, scientists, nurses, and other medical and clinical personnel in developing and translating complex scientific and medical information into materials for multiple audiences, including educational website readers and healthcare professionals. You will attend meetings with members of the global Medical Team, as well as work closely from planning through execution of written products with other key stakeholders across Carrot.
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in and/or generating medical/health communications, or having secured a Masters or PhD in a research medical or public health field, preferably within any of the fields of reproductive or pregnancy(maternal)/child health.
- Ability to communicate complex medical topics in a clear and precise manner without compromising the integrity of the scientific, evidence-based knowledge.
- Experience in multiple countries or environments that demonstrates an ability to understand, respect, and work well with people from diverse cultures to ensure success in generating materials that will resonate globally.
- Comfort with receiving and providing constructive feedback between team members, aligning with multiple stakeholders, and writing according to an agreed style while meeting timeline expectations.
- English language proficiency, verbal and written to an exemplary standard.
Preferred qualifications:
- An advanced degree, Masters or PhD, in any field related to sexual, reproductive, or pregnancy(maternal)/child health.
- Formal training or field experience in any area of reproductive health or pregnancy(maternal)/child health.
- Course or certification in medical writing or journalism.
- In addition to English language proficiency, one additional language (Spanish, French, Hindi, German, Japanese, or other) is highly desired, and multiple language proficiencies.
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthtech environment.
- Experience writing for a global audience concerning sensitive and culturally complex health topics that impact a variety of potentially conflicting socio-cultural values.
