Instructional Designer

ROLE OVERVIEW
Benchling is building a world-class training platform to support the enablement of our rapidly growing customer base. We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer who is passionate about creating training resources and supporting enablement initiatives. You will focus on designing collateral for our customers and partners that supports their learning and skill development on Benchling’s platform. You will also craft and categorize training collateral aimed at supporting team members at Benchling. You will work collaboratively with other teams to develop strategies that support our larger training initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Support the design of courses and other learning modules on Benchling’s training platform
- Develop, write, and maintain content for Benchling’s training platform
- Organize and standardize content on the internal Content Management System for various teams’ accessibility.
- Write training resources and develop courses for the internal and external Learning Management System.
- Support the crafting of a Benchling voice and language used on our external training platform.
- Support Key Initiatives across Training & Enablement team as needed
ABOUT YOU3+ years experience designing and writing content resources for training and enablement purposes
- Knowledge of and experience working with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Articulate, Absorb, TalentLMS)
- Direct experience leading the design and delivery of online training courses
- Comfort using multimedia tools and applications to create compelling curriculum (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)
- BS or M.Sc. in biology or a similarly technical or science focused field highly recommended
- 1-2 years Life Sciences industry experience, preferred
- 1-2 years experience at a SaaS company, preferred
