Harness is obsessed with Customer and Partner success. Education being one of the many pillars behind driving value for customers, Harness University is looking for a Senior Instructional designer who can create content for our Partners, Customers and DevOps engineers at large looking to continually improve their DevOps skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling technical course content 
  • Work with subject matter experts to gather knowledge and build learning objectives, training content and other assets as needed
  • Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design 
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
  • Proficient in different training delivery methods such as self paced, Instructor led and Live training. 
  • Working knowledge of efficacy models such as Kirkpatrick, to evaluate course effectiveness
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management systems, Content Management systems
  • Working knowledge of authoring tools (Captivate, Storyline etc)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-moving startup environment where change is constant

ABOUT YOU

  • Previous working experience in instructional design for 10+ years
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Basic HTML knowledge
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) 
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
  • Degree in instructional design or relevant experience in educational technology or similar relevant field
