About the Team

Crunchyroll is searching for a creative and collaborative copywriter to drive copy writing and editing efforts across the Marketing, Product, and Communications teams.

The Marketing team is responsible for brand marketing, as well as audience growth and retention across Crunchyroll brands. Our responsibilities extend from our streaming services to our games, our events, and other ancillary products and markets. Our work accelerates audience engagement, drives revenue, and is key to the expansion of the Crunchyroll and VRV brands.

The Product team is responsible for the design of the Crunchyroll and VRV services on desktop, tablet, mobile, and TV devices. Our goal is a consistent and seamless user experience across all these platforms. As a complement to Business and Engineering, we collaborate closely with teams across the organization to identify the right problems to solve and ensure that our solutions satisfy the goals of both the business and the end user.

The Communications team is responsible for elevating our corporate identity, consumer brands and employer brands (for Crunchyroll, VRV, and Rooster Teeth) through global public relations, internal communications, corporate social responsibility, and celebrity/athlete relations. Our goal is to connect the dots with many stakeholders, both external and internal, to assure our collective narratives are aligned. 

Location: San Francisco

Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of cross-functional experts assemble to create experiences for Crunchyroll and VRV’s passionate communities.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, advertising, communications, or relevant field
  • 5+ years of professional copywriting experience 
  • Experience developing copy for products, marketing, and/or PR
  • Ability to create and execute a creative copy vision, defining voice and tone for a brand
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop campaign ideas, narratives and scripts for a range of promotions
  • Have an interest in anime, pop culture, animation, video games, tech and geekdom
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and balance many project deadlines at once
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Hardworking and thorough with a keen eye for detail
  • Collaborative and diplomatic communicator
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with the localization process a plus

A day in the life of our Senior Copywriter:

  • Write engaging copy that inspires and informs across all touch points of the brand, from the Crunchyroll and VRV product experience to digital ads, emails, push notifications, live events, and other external communication
  • Collaborate and brainstorm across teams to develop concepts and narrative arcs
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, events, and audience development to create compelling copy across all marketing channels
  • Collaborate with product management and product design to craft clear and effective copy for the various user-facing products
  • Define and maintain the voices and tone guidelines of the Crunchyroll and VRV brands for marketing material and product experiences
  • Review and edit external-facing copy, ensuring consistency with our brand voice and tone guidelines across various channels
