About the Team
Crunchyroll’s Creative Services team is searching for a Copywriter to lead writing and editing efforts across our Marketing, Product, and Communications teams. What are these teams all about?
Creative Services: Home Base. Creative Services owns and maintains the look-and-feel (or, sound-and-tone) of the brand wherever fans encounter us. Working with the Art Director and designers you will discover you’re a very popular person and always in demand.
Marketing: The key to growing the Crunchyroll brand, Marketing’s job is to expand and keep our audience engaged with the content they love. Whether it’s an email highlighting the latest show, or a notification incentivizing fans to binge episodes; this team builds awareness and gets users passionate about our extraordinary platform.
Product: Our website, mobile app, and any living room device (like Roku, X-Box, or Hulu) are crafted by the Product team to deliver a consistent experience no matter where you watch.
Communications: Think public relations, internal communications, corporate social responsibility, and celebrity relations. This team is in charge of our identity at a corporate level.
Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status
Crunchyroll employees are currently working from home, and we are still conducting remote interviews and hiring during this time. This role is expected to start remotely, and we’ll work closely with you as we understand every person has unique circumstances.

Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of cross-functional experts assemble to create experiences for our passionate communities.
A Day in the Life of our Senior Copywriter
- Your day will likely start with a Slack from a member of our Product team based in Moldova, so while you’re sleeping, they’re hard at work.
- Through Wrike, you will notice that one of the lovely folks from Marketing needs copy for an email letting fans know about an upcoming series.
- If it happens to be Crunchyroll Expo or Anime Awards season, you will find yourself concepting ways to evolve these events and writing copy for their websites or marketing promos.
- Inevitably you will receive requests to edit decks.
- If there is available bandwidth, we try to look down the road at important but not urgent recurring tasks like Copy Guidelines or VRV emails.
- On occasion, you may receive a script from the Video team or corporate copy from Communications. They are all pros, so bring your A-game.
About You:
- 5+ years of professional copywriting experience
- Experience developing marketing or public relations copy for websites and/or applications
- Ability to create and execute upon your vision creative copy vision, maintaining voice and tone for a/similar brand
- Familiarity with the localization process a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks and balance multiple deadlines
- Collaborative and diplomatic communicator
- Creative with the ability to develop campaign ideas, narratives, and scripts for a variety of promos
- An interest in anime, pop culture, animation, video games, tech, and/or other fandoms
