As we move into a period of accelerated growth, it's now time to bring in a seasoned Technical Writer to build out the foundation for Snapdocs’ product documentation strategy. If creating technical documentation infrastructure for a company modernizing an industry excites you, then we have a role for you... 

Snapdocs is an early-stage technology platform, backed by blue-chip venture capital firms like Founders Fund, SV Angels, Sequoia Capital, F-Prime Capital and Y Combinator. We are tackling the $1.75 trillion U.S. mortgage market, developing modern software for an industry that still relies on fax machines and manila envelopes. We bring security, efficiency, and ultimately a better home buying experience to a paper-based pillar of the US economy. As we expand our product offering and tackle a broader swath of customers, it's vital that we produce high-quality documentation for our ever evolving product suite. That’s where you come in… 

Reporting to the Director of Product, the Technical Writer's first task is to design the organizational infrastructure for product documentation within the Atlassian suite (Confluence). Building upon this foundation, you will produce high-quality documentation for product procedures, processes, tutorials, user flows and FAQs to help our Sales and Customer Success teams. Additionally, you will use your robust writing skills to edit, clarify, and proofread existing documents, create templates and outline best practices for the team. Our long term goal is to build out a knowledge base for all product documentation. Initially, this is a 3-6 month contract role with the ability to convert to full time for a person interested in managing a growing central hub for all product documentation.

Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of technical writing experience working for high-growth B2B SaaS companies designing documents that convey information quickly and intuitively. Over the years of writing clear, accurate, and concise software documentation, you have developed a keen ability to break down complex information into simple, digestible collateral. You have had an opportunity to evolve documentation over time, and think through the challenges of how to scale technical documentation resource centers efficiently. You have experience with a range of tools spanning across the Google Suite, Atlassian Suite (Confluence), Guru, Loom, Vimeo, and Slack. Bonus points if you had the opportunity to develop visual abstractions and user wireflows. Above all, you are curious, autonomous, extremely detail-oriented and are excited by the idea of helping us navigate the complexities of a growing product.
