What are we looking for?

  • Someone who is a genuine team player and who looks out for the best needs of the team and the company
  • A person with a drive to create and mature policies, plans, standards, procedures, and work instructions 
  • Someone with excellent written and verbal communications skills that can assimilate existing documentation and then work within the document library to improve and expand upon it
  • Someone who can work with SW developers, QA testers, support people, and operations people on a variety of tasks to help document what they do 
  • Someone who can work on an internal website for Information Security
  • A person who can work independently and who is a self-starter

What will you do? 

  • Plan, develop, and write standard operating procedures and training materials
  • Perform documentation gap analyses and develop plans for writing requirements
  • Research regulations, standards, and guidance documents to develop best practices
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop processes and document them 
  • Help keep an internal website devoted to Information Security up-to-date
  • Help keep team’s Confluence and Sharepoint areas up-to-date
  • Review and revise standard operating procedures, work instructions, templates, and forms at the cadence required by the regulatory framework
  • Improve the document control processes 
  • Proofread and edit documents written by others 
  • Develop and provide training on processes to onboard new team members based on requirements and procedures
  • Take initiative in tracking down the content needed to complete both technical documents as well as policies, plans, and procedures 

What skills and knowledge you should bring?

  • Proficient in writing technical “how to” information, such as procedures, task/sub-tasks and steps in a document-centric environment without having to reply too heavily on subject matter experts
  • Skilled in learning and applying a technical vocabulary
  • Adaptable to changing products, projects, and priorities
  • In-depth understanding of good documentation practices in a corporate environment
  • High degree of customer focus, interdependent partnering, initiative, innovation, team work
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and handle/prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of regulations such as SOC 2, NIST 800 series, ISO 27001, and Fedramp (not required but good to have)
  • High proficiency in procedure development and a thorough understanding of technical writing
  • Experience with website development and knowledgeable of XML, HTML, and especially CSS 
  • Familiarity with the following: content management systems, Jira, Sharepoint, and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in related field required and/or a minimum 4 years of proven experience in technical writing 
  • At least 4 years of experience in a technical environment, such as the software industry or cyber security space
