Data Analyst

Seeking a driven and analytical Data Analyst to transform raw data into actionable business insights. Reporting to our VP, Product Management & Operations and partnering closely with our Sr Data analyst, you will have the opportunity to help mature and expand our Business Intelligence Function. 

At SheerID, we expect our Analysts to have high business acumen and be fluent in speaking with all teams from Marketing to Engineering.  We’ll provide you the opportunity to work on analytical problems and projects across the company, you’ll support our continued growth in Sales, provide valuable insights into Marketing, partner with Engineering and Product to support development, and work with the Leadership team to provide valuable insights that help form strategy. This will be a highly visible role working with stakeholders across the company to provide innovative solutions and drive the business forward.

Role Specific Job Duties:

• Partner with customer-facing teams to understand needs and work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to develop Business Intelligence solutions, analysis, and other ad hoc reporting to support a culture of self-service BI.
• Utilize Looker as the primary platform for dashboarding, BI development, and delivering meaningful data to the team.
• Promote data fluency across the organization and evangelize the concept of self-service Business Intelligence.
• Be the go-to resource for customer-facing teams when they have questions about reports or data.
• Partner with PMM and enablement teams to educate and train users of Looker on reports and data concepts. 
• Collaborate with data engineers, sales, marketing, operations, and other teams to ensure data quality and maintain the "single source of truth" by organizing disparate data sets across multiple systems and owning the data dictionary.
• Build reporting to support company KPIs and metrics. Create actionable data and analysis utilizing key metrics to drive business decisions and processes.
• Research, identify and design new metrics, insights, analysis, and dashboards by interviewing internal users, leveraging your experience, and staying current on industry best practices that help SheerID grow.
• Leverage knowledge of predictive analytics and statistical models to validate insights and predict future outcomes.
• Provide thought leadership on additional metrics, data sources, dashboards, processes, and outputs to proactively move BI forward.

Required Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Preferably with a background in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related technical field. 
• 3+ years experience working in an analytical or business intelligence function. 
• Understanding of statistics, statistical models, and predictive analytics.
• Experience taking a consultative approach in solving business problems and working with multiple stakeholders.
• Fluency in SQL, Python, or other experience developing custom data sets and manipulating data.
• Experience building data visualizations that clearly communicate results and provide actionable insights. 
• Ability to balance a high volume of requests from a variety of teams and customers.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience developing data models in dbt and Looker. Familiarity with BigQuery.
• Ability to organize report concepts based on target audiences.
• Experience translating complex datasets into customer-facing reports while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
• Strong familiarity of development best practices, QA tests, code reviews and documentation writing.
