About the Business Analyst role

Varo Bank is building products that will fundamentally change the way consumers use mobile banking products and revolutionize the banking system as we know it.

Varo Bank is looking for a Business Analyst to help identify and monitor the important metrics that help the Retail Bank deliver on a Bank for all of Us sustainably. 

A Varo analyst is expected to have a passion for our customers, learning about how they use our products and solving complex problems. You will collaborate across a number of teams internally -- to include product, data engineering, data science, finance, operations to ensure Varo’s Retail Bank is helping deliver on our customer and financial goals.

What you'll be doing

• Work with Retail Bank teammates to develop a keen understanding of important measures to understand customer behavior and usage of Varo products, including spending, saving and transactions
• Build and maintain dashboards to monitor the Retail Bank business and highlight movement on important measures that reflect the health of the business
• Help explain why measures may have changed from month to month that can help prioritize actions and projects within Retail Bank
• Influence key stakeholders and executives by presenting your analyses
• Problem-solve with Data Science, Product, and Operations to drive decision making using your analyses as a foundation

Required skills, experiences, and traits

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or other quantitative related fields that are data-driven
• Have built beautiful and effective dashboards that identify the important metrics for school, internships, or current job
• Excited about a fast-paced environment and comfortable with changing requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to autonomously identify and propose solutions to those problems
• Experience pulling data from operational databases, clean and synthesize the data
• Experience working with various statistical techniques (e.g., analyzing AB test outputs, accounting for standard deviations in metrics)
• Experience presenting findings in a slide presentation format (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides)
• Experience influencing teammates and executives by communicating key takeaways from analytical work
• Prior experience in banking or financial services is a plus
