As our Business Continuity Lead, you will drive business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives for the information security team at Blend. The role will report to the Security Policy Manager, and will collaborate heavily with a cross-functional team including engineering, infrastructure, product, and IT. You will define and organize business impact assessments, criticality analyses, and disaster recovery tests for the Blend platform and supporting software. In short, your role is to ensure that Blend can continue to offer highly available and reliable solutions to its customers in the financial services industry.


Financial services are critical infrastructure, and Blend is playing an increasingly significant role in providing digital experiences to consumers nationwide through close partnerships with leading banks and financial institutions. Your work will enable Blend to ensure reliability for its customers, end users, and all stakeholders in the organization.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Drive a range of concurrent BC/DR activities, business impact assessment, and testing engagements forward as a project manager to ensure the operation of industry-leading infrastructure reliability
  • Define quantitative and qualitative measures of success for IT infrastructure BCP testing and assessment
  • Document disaster recovery runbooks for critical IT infrastructure and applications
  • Track and ensure the remediation of findings that result from tests and assessments
  • Train engineers and other stakeholders on BC/DR and their role in executing recovery plans and test procedures
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate business continuity plans for Blend and its subsidiary organizations that meet organization and industry requirements and standards

Who You Are:

  • 4+ years of experience in a business continuity role or leading a business continuity programFamiliarity with ISO 22301, BCI Good Practice Guidelines, and their applicability to Blend’s business
  • Proven understanding of business continuity lifecycle fundamentals, regulatory considerations, and BC/DR testing methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, learn, and ask thoughtful questions that help surface risk
  • Solid working knowledge of cloud-based technology and tools, including common architectural principles for software development (i.e., Blend)
  • Experience working with cloud computing providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and engineering teams

Bonus Points!

  • Understanding of cloud security policy and control frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, NIST)
  • Proficiency in a programming language (we use Typescript, Golang, and Python)
  • Experience within fintech or the financial services industry, and familiarity with GLBA requirements
