The Business Intelligence (BI) team builds database and reporting solutions used for the company-wide reporting. By developing dashboards structures, and data warehouse architecture, the BI team serves as the foundation for decision-making at DoorDash. 

DoorDash is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer with a passion for numbers and background in business, finance, or other relevant disciplines. You show proficiency in manipulating large datasets as a technical powerhouse when scaling data infrastructure, dashboards, tools, reports, and forecasts. The Business Intelligence Engineer will work with teams in the company to understand the impact on revenue, accounting, finance, and financial statements. We are looking for a candidate to address our daily data needs and provide relevant insights to help bring our operations to the next level as we continue to grow.

What You'll Do

• Work daily with top-class business intelligence and accounting teams, both giving them data insights and learning top strategies in data manipulation
• You are excited to learn and understand the data lineage from the production system to the final impact on the accounting and company financial performance
• Unify data from multiple data sources using SQL, Python, and other languages to discern business impacts
• Use SQL tools such as Chartio and Tableau to develop reports, models, and dashboards on essential metrics to monitor and improve performance and help us make essential decisions
• Manage a portfolio of tools which empower Engineers and data scientists across the company
• Document our models, solutions, and implementations
• Ensure that collected data is within required quality standards
• Fix technical issues across all BI tools and maintaining documentation
• Continuously improve ETL jobs to hit performance targets

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years experience working in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or a similar role using accounting and finance data
• Advanced coding using SQL or Python
• Knowledge of relational databases (Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL) and big data technologies
• Experience working directly with our partners
• Experience with data tools (Chartio, Tableau, Looker)
• Experience with data generated by proprietary software systems and industrial solutions (SFDC and Segment a plus)
• Experience with Git, Airflow, and Snowflake a plus
• Hands-on leader and help the team internalize best practices by example
