Zoom's Privacy Team is responsible for the management and development of Zoom's privacy program, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international privacy laws and regulations, and evaluating the privacy practices of our suppliers and partners.

The Compliance Data Governance Manager will report directly to Chief Compliance, Ethics and Privacy Officer and provide support to the Associate General Counsel, Privacy; Chief Compliance, Ethics and Privacy Officer; and Chief Operating Officer, and work cross-functionally with the Engineering function, in carrying out all of the day-to-day operational responsibilities for program design, implementation, and compliance related to Zoom's data governance programs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strategic thinker, extremely organized, great communicator, and enjoys collaborating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a globally distributed team. This position has the potential to be a people manager role dependent upon candidate experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data inventory, including the purpose of processing, categories of personal data, categories of data subjects, authoritative systems, and technical and organizational security measures (including GDPR Art. 30 Record of Processing Activities)

  • Design and implement data mapping to include transfers of personal data across national borders and documentation of applicable safeguards

  • Deploy and help to improve data governance program management processes and technologies including support for incident management, data subject access requests, and privacy impact assessments

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering and other relevant functions to formalize data governance compliance throughout the organization with a focus on the protection of personal and sensitive data and improvement of data quality through modifications to policies, standards, principles, training, metrics, processes, tools and architecture 

  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s information assets 

  • Assist in the the development and implementation of data protection standards, data quality standards, and related training and adoption requirements across the enterprise

  • Collaborate with data science teams to drive data impact analysis and data quality initiatives

  • Accountable for creation and maintenance of appropriate documentation including operating procedures for all process-related responsibilities above

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience with Data Governance, Data Compliance and/or Information Management disciplines with a sound understanding of data protection laws & regulations and privacy/security compliance frameworks, large scale data governance including project management and oversight experience

  • Subject matter expertise and practical experience with data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection

  • Prior successful experience implementing data related technology solutions including privacy enhancing technologies

  • Experience with data governance tools and data quality management tools

  • Strong technical background, with experience driving data governance initiatives across compliance, finance, sales/marketing and engineering teams

  • Must be a team player, organized, ethical, responsible, and self-motivated

  • Highly developed organizational skills to function effectively, while still maintaining attention to detail and meeting specific organization goals

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, MIS, or Information Management
