At Volta we’re on a mission to accelerate the adoption of the electric vehicle. Volta creates city-wide free electric vehicle charging networks in major metropolitan areas. Our charging networks are free-to-use, free to our property partners, and monetized through brand sponsorships and digital media content.

We are seeking a Corporate Development Business Analyst to join our Corporate Development team to build new and manage existing partner relationships across Volta’s platform and products. The analyst will support the team through the evaluation and development of new opportunities, provide support in market analysis, and assist with execution of partnerships once they are established. The person in this role will work both independently and in partnership with members of the team to model and evaluate the opportunities with the potential to drive the most value for Volta. We are looking for analytical talent to provide insights and actionable recommendations that will drive impact through better business decisions. 

The Corporate Development team has an overall responsibility to increase Volta’s enterprise value via partnership and sponsorship opportunities across all industry segments. The Corporate Development Analyst will perform a variety of functions to support team success. The activities performed will likely evolve over time as Volta’s growth and scope of interest expand and accelerate.

 

One key additional responsibility for this analyst will be to identify, manage and maximize Volta’s participation in the broad scope of government and utility electric vehicle infrastructure incentives and rebates that are available for project cost management. These programs are a unique relationship opportunity for Volta and require focused attention to successfully execute them.

This position will be based in San Francisco and will report to VP of Corporate Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and provide quantitative guidance to strategic and commercial decision making
  • Present findings, recommendations, and results to Corporate Development team and Volta senior leadership
  • Leverage experience in analytics tools and scientific rigor to produce actionable insights
  • Develop frameworks and deliver analyses to guide decision-making
  • Perform the primary research to identify rebate programs and then perform the necessary steps to enroll Volta in the relevant programs
  • Develop and execute processes for rebate programs to enable smooth engagement with all stakeholders inside and outside of Volta throughout the various steps of the sales cycle, CapEx spending decision-making and subsequent project implementation and launch
  • Develop analytical tools and processes over time to assess the value of rebate program participation to Volta

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, corporate finance, or equivalent analytical role
  • BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or similar 
  • Ability to dissect business issues, analyze data, and draw actionable conclusions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively across various departments
  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter - you naturally take ownership, look for opportunities, and do whatever it takes to drive results
