Analytics at Segment plays a key part in building increased understanding of our business and our customers and in helping our teammates make better data-driven decisions. We work cross-functionally to develop and share insights, combining qualitative understanding and quantitative analysis. As a member of the team, you’ll have an opportunity to work with high-caliber individuals to drive strategic and operational improvements at our company.

 

Focus and Drive of the Role:

  • Apply the power of data to business acumen to inform day-to-day operations, as well as company-level strategic decisions
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to identify and understand business problems
  • Develop company, department, and team performance metrics and help attain targets
  • Effectively communicate insights and analyses to a wide variety of stakeholders

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of work experience, with experience at technology startups
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative or technical field; or equivalent years of experience
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Good understanding of finance and accounting concepts
  • Deep sense of curiosity
  • Strong business acumen
  • Enjoy driving insight through data
  • Synthesize and communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences
