As a Staff Data Architect in IT, you’ll work with collaborators across GRAIL to understand the enterprise-wide needs for data collection, analysis, reporting and application. We’ll look to you to drive delivery of an enterprise wide data analytics stack including a data warehouse/data lake strategy for data aggregation, ETL and an overall platform stack, resulting in delivery of key insights and optimizations to our most meaningful enterprise workflows. We are looking for someone who can think strategically but is also hands on with a consistent track record building a data ecosystem that delivers compelling business value in a rapidly growing environment.
Ideal work location is Raleigh - Durham NC. But also open to remote location within the US.
You will...
- Articulate a data strategy and develop a technical solution for integrating data from multiple business systems into an enterprise data platform
- Work closely with the Business Intelligence and Analytics core team to build out a roadmap for systems, tools and processes in the areas of data management, master data management, data quality, transformations, enrichment and data integration to support the expanding business analytics use cases
- Apply business strategy and enterprise architecture principles while driving data strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure a scalable, reliable and extendable data architecture that can evolve with changing needs
- Create, maintain, and govern architectural views, guidelines and blueprints depicting the data landscape in its current, transitional, and future state
Your Background Should Include...
- BA/BS with 8 years of experience OR Masters degree with 6 years of experience working with Data Architectures of enterprise data assets including Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality, Data Analytics/BI, Data Enrichment, Data Integration/ETL, Security and Governance
- Demonstrated positive collaboration skills with key partners and system users to deliver robust systems and compelling results.
- Experience building and optimizing enterprise data repos (data warehouse, data lake) and the tool stack around them.
- Solid project management and organizational skills.
Desired Experience...
- Experience with AWS (e.g. Athena, Redshift, Quicksight, Lake Formation, AWS Glue, S3), Snowflake, Tableau, Denodo
- Life sciences / Biotech sector experience in a regulated environment GxP, FDA, ISO 13485, etc.
