About Your Team

Software Infrastructure team serves as the platform which powers autonomy algorithms both onboard and offboard. We are providing computing, storage, communication and data center services & tools to enable autonomy stack to run onboard on the vehicle and offboard inside the data-center. We also provide infrastructure software to support offline machine learning training, data pipelines and simulation for validation and verification.

About Your Role

You will be a key contributor on a small, collaborative team focused on one of the most exciting robotics applications today. In this impactful role, you will mainly contribute to the data infrastructure: bring innovative state-of-the-art deep-learning models for self-driving into production, and onto autonomous vehicles; build efficient and scalable data pre-processing and post-processing pipelines to manage and serve 2D and 3D sensor, map, and log data; build data analytics platform on the data lake to generate metrics and insights for autonomy and system performance; provide tools for users to run different queries against the data lake.

About Your Work

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and document innovative solutions for challenging data problems with robust, scalable, reusable, efficient production-quality software
• Collaborate and communicate closely with autonomy and system teams to identify, propose and build infrastructure, large-scale data pipelines, data storage strategy, common libraries and useful tools needed to manipulate data
• Research and incorporate emerging software infrastructures, tools, and technologies, especially pertaining to data processing
• Develop web-based dashboards & reports for quickly visualizing autonomy performance
• Establish data pipelines for analysis to measure long-term trends
• Work cross functionally with different stakeholders to identify key performance metrics that will be tracked over the long-term

About You

• BS, MS, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar with 3+ years of experience building data infrastructure
• Experience building production level software systems, with Python and C++
• Experience in architecting and building large-scale batch processing pipelines using Big Data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, etc.
• Deep aspiration of how cloud infrastructure like AWS, GCP works; experience with scaling cloud and on premise systems
• Team-player with a strong collaboration and communication skills, who is able to motivate and mobilize cross-functional teams, and respond positively to feedback
• Great attention to detail and a data-driven approach to problem solving
• Comfortable working across teams and organizations to drive the finish line

Nice to Have

• Experience with 2D & 3D data, manipulating and transforming geometric data, computer graphics style image and data projections, graph-based algorithms
• Knowledge of applied machine learning, and GPU processing in compute clusters
• Familiarity with considerations related to sensor data (RGB, LiDAR) such as calibration, data capturing, noise sources, transformations, etc.
• Infrastructure experience in self-driving industry
