We are looking for a Data Engineering leader passionate about healthcare data and building high performing teams. Experience with distributed systems, Big Data tools, cloud architecture, privacy and security, testing, and a strong background in a robust software development process are all a must. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team of Data Engineers and Backend API Engineers responsible for ingesting data from sources such as wearable devices, surveys, electronic health records, and internal databases
• Apply your understanding of modern data processing tools and software engineering best practices to manage development of robust data pipelines and API integrations
• Build a high-performing team and lead the team to produce sustainable results
• Create a culture of transparency, ownership, collaboration, and accountability
• Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with partners and stakeholders across the business

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years experience in data engineering
• 3+ years experience in engineering management
• Experience programming in Python and/or Ruby
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Spark
• Experience with a variety of data stores (e.g., S3, GCS, HDFS) and file formats (Avro, Parquet, CSV, JSON, XML)
• Knowledge of ETL tools such as Stitch, FiveTran, StreamSets, Alooma, AWS Glue, etc.
• Experience with Cloud services (AWS, Heroku preferred)
• Management skills and ability to dive into technical details, as needed
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related technical field
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, Luigi, or Oozie
• Experience with AWS Services such as EMR, RDS, DMS, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, etc.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Terraform, SaltStack preferred)
• Experience with strong security/compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
