Overview:As a Data Researcher you’ll be responsible for spearheading open source data analysis on emerging geopolitical topics using Primer’s cutting-edge platform. You’ll work closely with the National Security go-to-market team to produce customer-facing products, marketing materials and provide thought leadership to customers. You will also engage with our Product, Engineering and Data Science teams to test and evaluate cutting edge prototypes.

Our objective is to help our customers understand the world around them ‐‐ whether it is emerging geopolitical events, development of a product line or area of research, or monitoring a portfolio of companies’ financial performances. The National Security team directly supports the mission of the US intelligence community and broader DOD by automating reading and research tasks to enhance the speed and quality of decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop research projects on emerging geopolitical events, foreign disinformation campaigns, and other national security issues using Primer’s AI-enabled platform to produce blog posts, case studies and other customer-facing analytic products
  • .Collaborate with Primer’s marketing and National Security go-to-market team to develop collateral (e.g. print, video, web-campaigns)
  • Produce and host customer webinars to share your research and insights
  • Engage with Product Managers and Engineer leads to test out the latest models and algorithms and serve as in-house subject matter expert and “power user”

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 4+ years of professional experience writing and creating analysis on geopolitical eventsInterest and curiosity in technology, with a high level of comfort learning how to use new software tools
  • Demonstrated ability (through coursework or professional experience) designing and executing research projects 
  • Strong communication skills - you’ll be expected to produce white papers, blog posts, slide decks and other materials with minimal editorial oversight and on short deadlines

Bonus Points

  • Experience producing and analyzing large datasets
  •  Experience as an open-source analyst for a USG customer
  • Experience as a consultant producing client-facing analytic products
