As a data scientist, you will lead the charge on building our analytical infrastructure and driving insights that lead to step-function improvements in how we operate. You will apply statistical models, design and interpret experiments, build mission-critical dashboards in the pursuit of transparency over how we can improve the accuracy of our AI models. The role requires working closely with our Product, Engineering and ML teams to craft narratives, find insights, and guide them towards better decision making. In a typical week or month, you will be responsible for data analysis and visualization, dashboard/report building, and metrics reviews.

This is a full time role is located onsite at our San Francisco office. 

What you'll do here:

  • Design experiments and determine appropriate statistical approaches to answer questions about the accuracy and efficiency of our AI models as well as data collection and annotation processes.
  • Provide the company with ad-hoc analysis and visualization, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools that will guide day-to-day operations, planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Set up, maintain, and scale our data analytics infrastructure; ETL code-base and processes used to drive self-service tools.
  • Partner across stakeholders to define measurement approach, quantify and evaluate success, and develop KPIs and guide tracking efforts for ongoing measurement and reporting.
  • Iterate on your work and analyses to generate ever-better questions to answer.

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of industry experience in data science broadly
  • Expert knowledge of a scientific computing language (R, Python) with an emphasis on statistical packages like NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn , Matplotlib etc.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics (clustering, regression, etc.) and experiment design
  • Experience querying large structure/unstructured datasets in SQL/Hive, Redshift, Spark etc.
  • Experience with writing and maintaining ETL jobs for ingesting data across systems into a data warehouse
  • Comfort with BI and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker etc.)
  • BA/BS in a field that emphasizes data analysis and visualization (e.g., computer science, social sciences, physical sciences, math, engineering, or statistics), or equivalent work experience
