About the role:

Skydio is seeking an enthusiastic Failure Analysis Engineer to help ensure that units produced are the of the highest quality. This role requires a robust technical skillset, combined with strong soft skills and a keen interest in aerospace hardware.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Be a technical point of contact representing the Manufacturing Quality Team
  • Delve into technical issues across hardware/software/systems
  • Work cross functionally with EE, Systems, FW, RF, Supplier Quality Engineers to distill complex issues into manageable portions
  • Ultimately surfacing root causes, aggregating trends/patterns within manufacturing, providing clear and actionable documentation while suggesting potential corrective actions
  • Be involved in EFFA (field) efforts; summarize and prioritize field issues that may be EE/system related, discover root cause and feed learning into to current manufacturing environment as well as championing improvements on the next program
  • Continue to build out failure analysis capabilities (lab equipment, SOPs, etc)

What makes you a good fit:

  • Technical expertise in the EE/systems/FW space (such as robotics system design, FW/SW languages, test script writing, board schematics, signal tracing, etc)
  • Intense curiosity to figure out what's wrong
  • Hands-on
  • A passion for consumer hardware and flying
  • Solid soft skills to work cohesively with a variety of technical experts 
  • Experienced in using common FA lab tools (oscilloscope, microvu, microscopes, volt meters, signal analyzer, etc)
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics 
  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s in EE/Systems Engineer/Mechatronics
  • AS9100 / ISO9001 experience (nice to have)
