At Standard Cognition, we’re rethinking the way retail works. We are enabling autonomous checkout for brick & mortar retailers with our AI-powered computer vision platform. Since launching in November 2017, Standard has contracts with multiple global retailers and is in the process of deploying our Standard Checkout solution across thousands of stores globally. A machine learning application is only as good as the quantity and quality of data it is exposed to. You will build the suite of apps and services that enable our Data Operations and ML team to design, create, label and filter high quality datasets for training our models powering automated checkout. We need intuitive, efficient and intelligent tools that:

• allow for accurate and granular capture of retail item attributes as well as their physical placement.
• present model performance metrics to help prioritize retail items and guide dataset creation.
• enable creation of video-based training datasets and performing a rough annotation pass in real-time.
• help ML engineers explore, filter and cluster an extremely large computer vision dataset. 

Who you are:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field or relevant experience
• 2+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Deep understanding of at least one popular server side web framework (Django, Flask, Rails, Express etc.), and a modern JS frontend framework (React, Angular, Ember, Electron etc.)
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS and NodeJS
• Proficient in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Python, Java or Go
• Past experience using SQL and basic understanding of table design
• Understanding of web security (Auth0, Okta) and performance best practices.
