The Role

Step is looking for an experienced Head of Analytics to be a founding member of our Analytics team. We're looking for someone to roll up their sleeves and be the companies first analytics hire eventually building out and leading a team.  The Head of Analytics is focused on driving tangible business impact across the company, maintaining processes and infrastructure while providing leadership for all of analytics and business intelligence. The Head of Analytics will be expected to expand beyond analytics and be a strategic thought partner across the company.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate with senior leaders and drive strategic decision making
  • Establish a long-term strategy for analytics at Step
  • Hire and develop top-tier outstanding, talented people for your team
  • Identify opportunities for data-driven decision making
  • Own supply and demand forecast models, understand deviations and business drivers
  • Initiate, orchestrate, and supervise business-critical tactical investigations as necessary
  • Train other teams across Step on how to self-serve for business-as-usual analysis
  • Best practices for AB testing, consistent analysis of results and cataloguing of what we learn
About You
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics or data science
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative field
  • MBA preferred
  • Providing leadership to the team to champion the use of data for better decision- making
  • Hiring and coaching analysts and business intelligence engineers
  • Strong professional background using SQL and python for data manipulation
  • Strong ability to understand business priorities, recognize leverage in analytics projects, and prioritize appropriately
  • Implementation of data infrastructure (data pipelines, ETL, CDI, client-side tracking)
  • Can apply statistics to business problems (e.g. split testing)
  • Deep familiarity with customer analytics, including but not limited to demand forecasting, multi-touch attribution, customer segmentation, and lifetime value
  • Eager to roll up your sleeves and dig into any problem in a fast-paced startup environment
