We are looking for a Lead Analyst for our Actuarial / Value Measurement team who will communicate value and assist in developing and assessing Grand Rounds’ methodologic approach to savings and outcomes. The ideal candidate is mission driven, has the ability to lead and influence cross functional teams, and has a high degree of comfort understanding complex concepts and presenting key findings to internal and external executive-level stakeholders.

In this role you will be called upon to wear many hats. Duties will include presentations to customers, consultants and other external audiences about Grand Rounds’ performance, leading analyses with various evidence-based methodologies to answer critical customer questions, and shaping how Grand Rounds demonstrates savings and outcomes. The position requires superb analytical ability and a strategic mindset, but also the ability to communicate effectively and manage cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an “analytic quarterback” within the Actuarial / Value Measurement team, helping to own Grand Rounds’ savings and ROI methodologies (e.g., assessing need for methodology updates, creating parameter estimates for change, optimizing methodologies)
  • Support organizational alignment on best methodologic approach to measuring savings and value delivered from Grand Rounds’ Products and Services
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and QA analytics and actuarial analyses generated in support of value reporting to Grand Rounds’ customers
  • Develop content for and participate in methodologic discussions with key accounts (Fortune 50 companies) and consultants
  • Develop and support actuarial tools for customer analytics (e.g., trend impact modeling)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5-7 years of experience working within health care benefits
  • Background in healthcare analytics a plus (e.g., through working at a benefits consultancy, data warehouse vendor, carrier, etc.)
  • Strong preference for candidates with actuarial designation (ASA with progression toward FSA, FSA, or career ASA)
  • Proficiency in advanced actuarial and analytic methodologies
  • Proficiency in Excel, GSuite, and SQL, and preference for experience with at least one statistical programming language or package (e.g. Python)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to apply judgment to discern data quality 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with peers, executives, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects
  • Comfort with ambiguity, significant autonomy, and a fast-paced, changing environment
