Freshworks is looking for a Lead ML Engineer to help us advance our goal of empowering customers with the latest AI in all of our products. As an ML Engineer, you will apply your AI/ML expertise to some of the most valuable use-cases in the industry today, including various applications of NLP for Customer Support and Automatic Speech Recognition. You will deliver end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced, fast-growing environment with minimal hierarchy, high standards, high responsibility and opportunity for significant individual impact. To qualify, you should have a strong CS background, experience with contemporary AI/ML and Deep Learning, and be an expert in one or more specialized subfields, such as NLP, Computer Vision or Speech. You should have shipped AI models in production, developed and/or used ML pipelines, and have demonstrated software engineering skills in areas such as algorithms, distributed systems, APIs, performance, containerization, etc. The role will involve staying up-to-date with state-of-the-art research, demonstrating real-world effectiveness, integrating into the product, and shipping and maintaining robust, production-quality code and models.

Requirements and desirables:

• 5 years of experience in applied AI & machine learning
• Experience as a Software Engineer or in a an engineering heavy position working in at least one language beyond Python and R
• Familiarity with state-of-the-art research in at least one subfield or application with Deep Learning (e.g.: Question Answering, Multi-lingual ASR)
• Desire and ability for hands-on product impact beyond research
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on leadership experience is a plus
