The Manager, Compliance Analytics - KYC & Risk Rating  will work within the Compliance Tools and Analytics team to build, maintain, tune and enhance KYC systems and tools globally. The person will work in a very cross-functional environment and collaborate with colleagues  within Compliance (AML, International, Institutional) and from Product, Engineering, Business, Customer Experience and Vendor Management teams. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the KYC program (AML Risk Rating, CIP, ID Verification, KYC refresh, Periodic Review, Enhanced Due Diligence) at FinTechs and large financial institutions and a hands-on knowledge of tools/infrastructure used to accomplish KYC program requirements. Knowledge of data analytics, SQL and Python and familiarity with third party KYC and automated ID verification tools like Jumio, Idology and Onfido will be a necessity to succeed in this role.

Knowledge of cryptocurrencies will be a big plus but not a prerequisite.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Own, develop, maintain and continuously improve AML Risk Rating models used across regions and business lines (including Consumer, Custody, Commerce and Broker-Dealers)
  • Build and maintain real time dashboards to track risk distribution, EDD workload, backlogs and ongoing progress
  • Support build-out of KYC and due diligence controls for Broker Dealer and Securities business lines
  • Develop metrics to measure model performance and to identify model enhancements
  • Fix production bugs and build enhancements requested by end-users in the KYC and Customer Experience Operations teams
  • Gather requirements and work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and develop an implementation plan
  • Collaborate with Product and Enterprise Application teams to integrate AML Risk Rating with customer onboarding, periodic review, KYC refresh and enhanced due diligence tools
  • Measure staffing impact of risk model and input data changes and proactively share with KYC and Customer Experience Operations teams to achieve a stable state program
  • Identify key data elements (KDEs) and analyze KYC data gathered from upstream and third party sources to develop “triggers” to alert on customer data anomalies
  • Partner with Product and KYC Compliance teams to perform periodic QA of third party IDV tools (and data received) and internal controls like name and address matching. 
  • Assist with scoping and planning of large KYC programs involving additional data collection and ID verification, as necessitated by KYC policy and emerging regulatory requirements
  • Support implementation of KYC/Onboarding and Enhanced Due Diligence Tools
  • Maintain up-to-date system documents for regulators, auditors and internal members
  • Build and manage a small team of of junior data analysts
  • Contribute to team belonging and inclusion

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment; prior experience in a start-up or high growth environment will be a plus
  • Background in financial services or consulting firms working in financial services compliance
  • Experience in Capital Markets and Securities KYC Compliance will be an added advantage
  • A go-getter person who can successfully execute in a cross-functional environment and under minimal supervision
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Compliance Technology roles related to KYC and Risk Rating
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of online ID verification tools
  • Prior engineering/development experience of KYC and Risk Rating Tools
  • Excellent analytical skills; strong SQL, Python and data visualization skills.
  • Knowledge of Go programming language is not necessary but a big plus
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), product development and management frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Person should be able to influence and lead a diverse group towards a clear goal when necessary
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, Applied Mathematics or related fields
