The Bioinformatics and Data Science team at GRAIL is recruiting for a temporary contractor to focus on the computational analysis of mass spectrometry data. The mass spectrometry analyst will demonstrate proficiency in standard methods for mass spec QC, batch effect normalization, and case/control cohort analysis.
Functional Duties:
> - Perform QC and exploratory data analysis LC-MS/MS data
> - Evaluate MS1 signal for evidence of specific protein signatures
> - Document code and results for dissemination to a wider audience.
Required skills:
> - Expertise in computational proteomics using data acquired through LC-MS
> - Strong grasp of best practices of MS data analysis and usage of common packages/algorithms
> - Familiarity with MS1 spectral data analysis
> - Ability to communicate methods and findings through written documentation and oral presentation
> - Proficiency in R (preferred) or Python
> - Familiarity with version control (git) and distributed computing preferred
Nice to have skills:
> - Graduate student or Postdoctoral Fellow who is independently motivated and curious about career opportunities in biotechnology.
