Principal Engineer - Personalization and Recommender Systems

Blueshift is looking for bold and self motivated data scientists and AI/ML engineers to join the team. You will have a chance to work on all aspects of designing and implementing novel algorithms, cutting edge learning architectures and large scale distributed data systems.

Responsibilities

• Be a self motivated, bold thinker, innovator and builder of scalable AI/ML systems end to end and embrace full stack data science.

• You will design and develop recommender systems that scale to billion plus users across variety of industries.

• You will work along side experienced technical and product teams with proven entrepreneurial success.

• You will provide technical leadership to junior data scientists and engineers and guide their research and software development.

Requirements

• Expert level knowledge on different types of learning techniques, multi objective optimization and learning to rank algorithms.

• Four plus years of building recommender systems that scale to hundreds of millions of users and tens of millions of products.

• Strong proficiency with distributed systems like Spark, Kafka, HDFS, Cassandra, Hive and HBase.

• Strong proficiency with open source AI/ML software libraries.

• Masters/PhD in Computer Science or related disciplines.

• A real passion for thinking from first principles and building from ground up.

• Published research work or talks at leading AI/ML conferences focused on recommender systems.
