Segment is looking for a smart, ambitious Professional Services Operations Analyst who is interested in helping steer our fast-growing sales organization. Working closely with a senior management team that has successfully built other successful enterprise SaaS companies, you will help grow and scale our global revenue-generating operations, increase sales efficiency, and develop new business processes. This is a multi-faceted role where you will work cross-functionally with our sales team, finance, operations, marketing, and product teams. We are seeking people with a passion for helping others and who are eager to take on a variety of projects in a dynamic environment. Proven problem solving and communication skills are required, and a quantitative or technical background is a big plus.

 

The Professional Services Operations Analyst is a member of the Revenue Operations team, reporting to the Head of Customer Success Operations, and will work very closely with the Vice President of Professional Services and the regional leaders of Professional Services. 

 

While Segment is fully remote right now, our expectation is that the team will get together in person 1 - 2 times/quarter once it is safe to do so. This position can be based in Denver, San Francisco, or one of our other remote locations.

 

What you’ll do…

  • Create and maintain operational reports and dashboards to that providing and advanced analytics into key success indicators
  • Work with PS Leadership in Fiscal year planning and continuous optimization of resources based on business need
  • Drive core business outcomes based on plan and corresponding metrics
  • Responsible for data management of metrics and oversight of data accuracy
  • Define the Professional Services processes and procedures that will enable our team to run cleanly and efficiently with regard to presales, bookings, staffing, delivery, operations and finance.
  • Help bring new Professional Services offerings to Segment’s customers — from outlining new Professional Services offerings to working with the PS leadership on building systems to contract and bill for offerings and roll them out to our internal team and our customers

 

You’re a great fit if you…

  • Have strong quantitative skills and are highly data fluent - you’re able to develop and communicate penetrating insights that inform how we organize and scale our sales org. 
  • Are a natural and independent problem solver - you’re highly skilled at understanding and solving problems and are comfortable with ambiguous problems with no easy answer.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills -  you’re able to effectively communicate insights, recommendations, and policies to Customer Success leadership & CSMs.
  • Have a proven track record of leading multi-stakeholder projects to success - you can coordinate with multiple stakeholders across time zones and organizations to drive projects to completion.
  • Have experience in predictive modeling - you’re able to understand, develop and refine business models that drive predictability and inform our decision making. 

 

Bonus points if…

  • You’ve helped stand up a new Professional Services function
  • You are fluent in Professional Services Automation systems (i.e. FinanacialForce, Mavenlink, OpenAir); both configuring the tool and using it to report core metrics 
  • You are capable of writing reports in Salesforce
  • You’ve used Segment or other Marketing Technology Solutions tied to Customer Data Infrastructure/Platform
  • If you enjoy working with smart people, and helping build a company that cares about quality and culture, you’ve found the right place.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a sales/success/services operations role, preferably at technology companies with a sales team of 100+ people; or experience in similar growth or operations roles in a dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's degree or higher; business, finance, economics, or engineering focus is a plus
