At Human API, we exist to radically accelerate the pace of health innovation for everyone. That is our vision. We unlock siloed health data from everywhere and put it directly into the hands of the consumer, right when they need it: enabling a meaningful transaction that creates value in their lives. Some call us the "PayPal" of health data, but our dreams are bigger.

To name a few examples - today we allow human access back to public settings (work, stadiums, travel) during our pandemic, we help rapidly screen participants for clinical trials, and we accelerate the buying process for important insurance products. Tomorrow we will inspire the innovation of impactful digital health products to maximize human longevity and potential. We are looking for talent who are equally inspired by these big ideas and have the grit and determination to make them come to life.

We're looking for an experienced Quality Assurance engineer specializing in data engineering. This is the job for you if you have interest and ability in understanding modern data engineering systems and techniques--and if you like using the best tools for verifying the quality of our engineering.

Your team will own

  • Bespoke data pipeline logic and processes.
  • Performance and scaling for internal and external real-time data services.
  • Conventional(-ish) ETL reporting and data engineering.
  • Incorporating appropriate use of ML techniques in the pipeline

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science or related field of study.
  • 5+ years in a professional software QA role with 2+ years of experience in QA automation.
  • Experience with Databricks/Apache Spark is desirable.
  • Experience working with AWS technologies is desirable.
  • Experience working with large scale distributed systems and microservices based applications.
  • Tester's Mindset - Strong testing acumen, ability to isolate & troubleshoot technical issues across the full technology stack by leveraging manual and automation testing methodologies.
  • Experience building test plans, test cases and test scenarios.
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environment and scripting.
  • A team player, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire for self-improvement.
  • Own problems end-to-end - we have a very ownership driven culture.
  • Are product focused - solving the underlying product problem is more important than writing lots of code.
  • Want to make a positive difference in people's lives.
