Your Impact:

Handshake is hiring a Security Analyst, Sales Enablement, where you will be responsible for managing the vendor diligence lifecycle for new and existing customers. You will be expected to learn the capabilities of our Handshake platform and understand how they map to privacy and security compliance requirements. You will play a critical role at the intersection of Sales, Legal, and Information Security. You will work closely with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) operations team to identify potential compliance gaps that can impact or hinder the sales lifecycle and overall customer experience. You will spearhead and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Vendor Risk Management Program. You will support the selection of tools & resources that will enhance the sales and onboarding experience of our valued customers onto the Handshake Platform. The position will report directly to the Head of Information Security, and be a member of our Security team, resident under Handshake’s CTO organization.

Your Role

  • Coordinate and manage responses to customer requests, including contributing to Request for Proposals (RFP) and addressing customer security inquiries, questionnaires, and/or due diligence assessments.
  • Provide accurate information about Handshake's data protection posture to customers, demonstrating how our data protection controls and measures align with their security expectations and applicable standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to maintaining a knowledge base of Handshake data protection information to effectively address customer inquiries about Handshake's data protection posture, collaborating with subject matter experts and key partners across Handshake to ensure accuracy and completeness of customer data protection questionnaires and assessments. 
  • Develop and contribute to internal-facing material in the form of white papers, support guides, due diligence documentation, and other resources that can be shared with customers.
  • Work with Sales and Legal teams to support customer direct engagements that assess Handshake’s data protection posture beyond the level of standard due diligence or standard requirements.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to continuously mature processes to more effectively support Sales in shortening the sales cycle, and enhance the customer engagement experience.
  • Maintain and update the security questionnaire Answer Library by learning from internal teams and conducting research to find or create answers to knowledge gaps. 
  • Support direct sales with security expertise in conversations with customers.
  • Conduct analysis on completed security questionnaires to determine win rate and trends of customer deals associated with compliance requests.

Your Experience:

  • 3-5 or more years of experience in a privacy, security analyst, security engineering, sales engineering, or data compliance role.
  • Knowledge of information security/privacy standards and best practices (e.g., CIS 20, NIST, SANS) as well as regulations related to information security and data confidentiality (e.g., MA 201 CMR 17, FERPA, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Minimum One or more of the following Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/U.S.), or others with comparable experience.
  • General understanding of data protection controls, access controls, least privilege principles, governance practices, policies and procedures, security standards, and vendor risk identification and mitigation practices. 
  • General understanding of secure systems development life cycle (SSDLC) methodologies and cloud architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Basic project management knowledge, Agile methodologies, Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform, and Salesforce.
  • General knowledge of legal agreements and contract terms and provisions.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills required - written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to navigate ambiguity to achieve goals and objectives.

Bonus Areas of Expertise: 

  • Experience working with Legal teams and Legal operations. 
  • Sales or Account Management experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Experience working in Higher Education, Career Services, or Recruiting sectors.

Compensation Range:

$97,306 - $134,608
