Overview

At Segment, we believe companies should be able to send their data wherever they want, whenever they want, with no fuss. Unfortunately, most product managers, analysts, and marketers spend too much time searching for the data they need, while engineers are stuck integrating the tools they want to use. Segment standardizes and streamlines data infrastructure with a single platform that collects, unifies, and sends data to hundreds of business tools with the flip of a switch. That way, our customers can focus on building amazing products and personalized messages for their customers, letting us take care of the complexities of processing their customer data reliably at scale. We’re in the running to power the entire customer data ecosystem, and we need the best people to take the market.

As a Senior Analyst, Strategic Initiatives and Programs, you will drive planning and execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives designed to improve go-to-market processes, systems, and policy infrastructure. This is a critical new cross-functional and consultative team focused on planning and project execution in support of the Revenue organization and its functional counterparts (Sales, Customer Success, Sales Development, and Partner/Channel Business Development).

What you'll do:

  • Be a partner and thought leader, who provides guidance to senior leaders across the Go-to-Market team (i.e CRO, VPs of Sales, Marketing, Operations & HR) on organizational effectiveness and execution on Segment’s Go-to-Market motion with strategic global projects and customer success initiatives
  • Support senior management in strategic, operational, and financial planning, and recommend  decisions that are in line with overall Segment leadership and financial goals
  • Design & execute plans for “leap forward” initiatives, initially focused on market & sales segmentation, renewal operations, and pricing
  • Contribute to, steward, and drive execution of initiatives on the Revenue Operations roadmap in support of optimizing Sales & Customer Success business operations for efficiency, productivity and scale.
  • Align closely with Finance leads in order to collaboratively plan & execute high-priority projects
  • Support fiscal year planning with other leads in Revenue Operations and Finance
  • Understand connections between stakeholder strategy, initiatives, and needs, and prioritize globally to maximize the value that Revenue Operations adds to Segment

What we're looking for:

  • 3-4 years of experience managing resources, tasks, and workflows in a revenue/sales and customer success operations role
  • 3+ years of experience leading the planning & execution of strategic projects and initiatives in a high-growth enterprise software/SaaS business
  • Experience with complex go-to-market projects, particularly in the areas of marketing segmentation, pricing, renewals, and global expansion
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS tools for communication and operations (e.g. Salesforce, Asana, Wrike, Xactly, Vitally)
  • Experience with analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau, Looker), as well as demonstrated spreadsheet-based planning and modeling expertise.
  • Proven history of driving multiple complex projects at the same time to on-time completion in a fast-moving environment
  • Deep understanding of software development and system integration processes and methodologies
  • Discernment and empathy for internal stakeholders’ pain points and needs, and an ability to translate those needs into concrete requirements
  • Ability to communicate informed opinions and drive discussions on strategy, priority, and tradeoffs while representing the needs of the Sales organization
  • Ability to move fast, adapt, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment where you derive priorities, requirements, and goals from company context
  • Strong interpersonal skills: experience collaborating successfully with diverse cross-functional teams, driving the right work while not being afraid to say “no”
