Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that enables Affirm to proactively adhere to regulatory requirements while also identifying and addressing potential regulatory issues that may arise. Compliance program activities include advisory, training, independent testing & monitoring, reporting, escalation and oversight. Although a second line of defense, compliance proactively partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, change management, issue identification and remediation plans, assessment and monitoring of third parties, and provides trends and data to enable informed decision making, strengthen controls and provide for better treatment of consumers.

Affirm is seeking a Compliance Analyst to support the company’s Marketing Compliance Program. In growing the company’s markets and products, Compliance plays a fundamental role by not only executing on key deliverables, but also providing subject matter expertise related to regulatory requirements and controls. The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for working with counsel and the compliance team in identifying and assessing risk related to direct and third party marketing of financial products through Affirm, as well as supporting the development and maintenance of the Compliance Management Program. Based in San Francisco (remote OK), the role will report to the Compliance Program Lead and will work cross-functionally with other teams.

What You'll Do

  • You will work with internal partners (Compliance, Marketing, Legal and Product) to review marketing materials and campaigns for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and best practices
  • You will operate and build infrastructure to enable compliant marketing among our merchant partners and internal commercial and marketing partners
  • You will assist in monitoring published advertisements and providing hands-on guidance to resolve any issues identified
  • You will support the Compliance team in maintaining relevant policies, risk assessments, trainings, and other related items (including internal testing and monitoring and external audits and exams)
  • You will maintain collaborative and trusting relationships with critical business and functional partners, including Bank partners

What We Look For

  • 4+  years of professional work experience in Compliance, Risk, Audit, Marketing Operations, or Bank Regulatory
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • A strong interest in fintech and consumer-friendly financial products
  • Experience working with consumer financial regulations including Reg. B (ECOA), UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, Reg. P, and Reg. Z
  • Demonstrated experience as a key contributing member of a high performing team
  • Inquisitive and proactive in proposing creative and effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex and sensitive issues

Location

We’re excited to announce that Affirm is now a remote-first company!  The majority of our roles can be accomplished anywhere in the U.S. and Canada (with the exception of Quebec).  While most Affirmers will have the option to choose a remote-first accommodation, our offices in San Francisco, New York City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Salt Lake City will remain operational and accessible for anyone to use on a voluntary basis. This role requires you to live within reasonable access to a particular office in order to fulfill certain job responsibilities.
