Lookout is searching for a passionate Data Analyst to join our growing Data Analytics team. With 100M sensors and growing, data informs every aspect of our company’s products and operations. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with key business groups to creatively answer questions and solve problems using data from every corner of the architecture. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of our next generation BI and data science architecture as we mature our technology stack and our analytic processes. This is a unique opportunity to join our Data & Analytics team and help our business leverage our complex data as we grow.

Responsibilities:

• Gather BI & Analytics requirements from stakeholders
• Perform complex data analysis using Tableau, SQL, Python, Hive, Athena
• Support ad hoc data queries and data analysis and present findings to all levels of management
• Build relationships with key business stakeholders
• Investigate and understand source data and how to use it to meet the reporting and analytical needs of the stakeholders. 
• Interface with engineering teams to ensure relevant source data is made available. 
• Design and build dimensional data models to store the data in an easy to use format for reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics
• Document the 'source to target' business rules which define the ETL to populate the dimensional data models in support of the reporting and analytics. 
• Build reports and dashboards in Tableau and potentially other data visualization tools. 
• Build internal data quality measures and processes to ensure the accuracy of data models, reports and dashboards

 Requirements:

• 4 or more years of experience working in data or analytics
• Degree in Computer Science or other quantitative field, or comparable experience. Coursework in MIS is a plus
• Expert SQL skills. Experience writing complex SQL queries in a data warehouse environment
• Expertise in Tableau or other Data Visualization tools (Looker, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Qlikview, DOMO, etc)
• Familiarity or basic knowledge of one of the scripting languages like Python, Scala etc.
• Experience working with various database systems and thorough understanding of database and SQL optimization techniques
• Experience in building dimensional data models using star schemas
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Solid business acumen and curiosity to understand our business better
• Proven ability to build relationships with key business stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to turn data into a story for our business partners.
• ETL scripting experience a plus
• Flexible ‘can do’ attitude - do what it takes to get things done
• Passion for data investigation and finding out how things work.

• Experience working with distributed systems like Spark, Hive etc.
