The Senior Data Governance Analyst will create the Data Governance program at Earnest. You will provide leadership to develop the practical data policies and guidelines to manage the accuracy, quality, and governance of data. As the Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will report to the Head of Data and you will:

  • Lead Data Governance Council and Working Group meetings to resolve issues from marketing, operations and finance teams
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to determine the causes of data quality issues and implement preventative controls
  • Create and operationalize the Data Governance roadmap, focusing on data handling, data curation/catalog, and data quality through policy, auditing, and collaboration
  • Design data lineage, quality checks, business rules and data dictionary
  • Identify data owners and collaborate with business/technical stewards of our information assets

Ideal background and expertise:

  • Master's in Information Management/Systems, Technology, or related graduate degree, or a Bachelor's Degree with relevant experience
  • 6+ years of professional experience in data or business analysis, data management/engineering, data quality/governance
  • Experience establishing and implementing Data Governance/Quality programs
  • Proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau
  • Experience building quality tooling, writing quality tests/checks and working with Quality/Infrastructure engineering teams
  • Experience using Airflow, dBt, Redshift, Snowflake, Postgres or other ETL tools and databases a plus
