JOB DUTIES:DESIGN, IMPLEMENT AND MAINTAIN HIGH-AVAILABILITY SQL AND NOSQL DATABASES IN A SAAS ENVIRONMENT TO BUILD SOLUTIONS TO ENHANCE AVAILABILITY, PERFORMANCE AND STABILITY FOR THE MORE THAN 6 MILLION DEVELOPERS AND 1 MILLION TEAMS IN BITBUCKET CLOUD AS WELL AS AUTOMATE AWAY REPETITIVE WORK. MAINTAIN AWARENESS OF MONITORING DASHBOARDS AND IDENTIFY HOTSPOTS AND FOCUS AREAS. LOOK OVER THE EXPLAIN OUTPUT OF A SLOW QUERY AND SUGGEST SOLUTIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS. REVIEW DEPLOYMENT IN AWS AND EXPLAIN THE HIGH-LEVEL ARCHITECTURE. EVALUATE THE SCHEMA FROM APPLICATIONS AND SUGGEST IMPROVEMENTS. WRITE SQL OR SCRIPTS TO PULL OUT PERFORMANCE DATA FROM DATABASE NOT ALREADY OBTAINED. WORK WITH LARGE, HIGH VOLUME, MISSION CRITICAL SAAS ENVIRONMENTS. WORK WITH BITBUCKET CLOUD TO DESIGN TABLE SCHEMAS, OPTIMIZE QUERIES AND OBSERVE HOW THEY BEHAVE AT SCALE IN PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT. WORK WITH INFRASTRUCTURE TEAMS TO ENSURE VISIBILITY INTO EVERYTHING THE DATABASE IS DOING, PROVIDING ADVICE ON METRICS, THRESHOLDS AND CONFIGURATION PARAMETERS. DEPLOY INFRASTRUCTURE IN CLOUD ENVIRONMENTS LIKE AWS USING TERRAFORM. MONITOR AND MAINTAIN THE GENERAL HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE OF ALL OF THE PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT DATABASES RUNNING ON TRADITIONAL, PRIVATE, HYBRID AND PUBLIC CLOUD ENVIRONMENTS. RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCESS MANAGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, REPLICATION AND KEEPING DATABASE SYSTEMS PATCHED. WRITE SHELL SCRIPTS AND WORK WITH LINUX SYSTEMS AND TUNE THEM TO SUPPORT HIGH VOLUME WORKLOADS.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: MASTER’S DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, OR A RELATED FIELD OF STUDY PLUS TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH RELATIONAL AND NOSQL DATABASES, SUCH AS ORACLE, INCLUDING EXPERIENCE WITH DATABASE MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION, LINUX SYSTEMS TUNING & TROUBLESHOOTING, SHELL SCRIPTING, FULL STACK ARCHITECTURE, ENTERPRISE SYSTEM ARCHITECTURES AND CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT.

ALTERNATE REQUIREMENTS: BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, OR A RELATED FIELD OF STUDY PLUS FIVE (5) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH RELATIONAL AND NOSQL DATABASES, SUCH AS ORACLE, INCLUDING EXPERIENCE WITH DATABASE MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION, LINUX SYSTEMS TUNING & TROUBLESHOOTING, SHELL SCRIPTING, FULL STACK ARCHITECTURE, ENTERPRISE SYSTEM ARCHITECTURES AND CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: MUST PASS TECHNICAL INTERVIEW.
