Our end-to-end population genomics platform enables health systems, life sciences companies, and payers to advance genomic research and accelerate the integration of genomic data into routine clinical care. We support all aspects of population genomics from recruitment to translational research and help our partners use genomics to improve health outcomes, increase patient engagement, and lower costs.   Leading health systems, including Renown Health, AdventHealth, and Mayo Clinic, use our population genomics platform to power some of the world’s largest and fastest-growing population genomics initiatives.

For the COVID-19 public health crisis, Helix has built one of the nation’s largest COVID diagnostic labs and has been on the leading edge of national viral surveillance efforts tracking B.1.1.7 and other viral strains.

As a Senior Manager, DevOps / SRE, you will:

• Lead a team of world-class DevOps / SRE engineers to advance Helix’s mission.
• Develop and execute against quarterly and annual DevOps / SRE technology roadmaps.
• Work at the intersection of reliability, security, and engineering productivity to develop effective metrics and tradeoffs.
• Evolve on-call, incident response, and postmortem processes.
• Drive architecture, shared code patterns, and best practice decisions.
• Improve platform performance and robustness in order to serve Helix’s patients and health systems.
• Collaborate with peer leaders across engineering, product management, and science to advance Helix’s platforms, people, and culture.
• Mentor teammates to reinforce a culture of learning and teaching.

Required:

• 5+ years leading engineering teams with a focus on DevOps / SRE
• A proven track record using modern cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Mature project management skills, including planning, prioritization, tracking, and retrospectives of multiple complex parallel initiatives
• Proven track record of recruiting, managing, and retaining engineering talent
• Development experience in go, python, typescript, or a similar language
• Empathetic, diligent, data-driven, high-integrity leadership style

Pluses:

• Bachelor/Master of Science in Computer Science
• Experience with serverless paradigms (Lambda, Cloud Functions, etc.)
• Experience with full-stack development
• Familiarity with regulated software systems (HIPAA, FDA, etc.)
