The Coinbase IT Operations team is looking to hire its first dedicated Data Analyst. This role will be crucial in establishing a robust data and metrics program. We are looking for someone passionate about problem solving and delivering data solutions and business insights. This role will report into our IT Collaboration & Enablement team and work closely with our IT Business Systems Analyst to build the data framework and analytics required to understand the employee experience and needs around our digital tools and services. This role will also partner with the broader IT Operations organization to help functional leaders establish critical metrics, build visualizations, and automate reporting.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Build a strong partnership across the different IT teams to deeply understand the team’s business strategy and operational objectives
- Aggregate disparate data sources and work with leaders to develop well rounded “single pane of glass” reporting for the IT organization
- Improve business and operational efficiency by developing, automating, and maintaining scalable processes, tools, and dashboards
- Be the domain authority on data integrations, management, and visualizations; and be available to mentor the broader IT team including Service Desk and Systems Engineering
- Partner with our IT Systems Engineering team to improve ETL processes and manage data sources
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Motivated self-starter who works well in an unstructured environment with light supervision
- Great teammate with excellent relationship building and extraordinary communication skills
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with an ability to translate internal partner needs into both business and technical requirements
- Excellent SQL skills a must (experience with Snowflake a plus)
- Experience with Looker or similar data visualization tools highly preferred
- Experience with extracting data from APIs (experience with Python or similar language is a plus)
- Experience with ETL processes
- Previous experience in IT or Customer Success & Support is highly preferred (within a high growth tech company is a plus)
- Consistent track record in establishing data frameworks from the ground up and a 3 to 5 years experience in an Operations Analytics role
Nice to haves:
- BS/BA or equivalent in a quantitative field e.g., math, statistics, engineering, economics, finance, computer science preferred
