ABOUT THE ROLE
The Uber Delivery New Verticals team is tasked with growing grocery and new verticals such as convenience, alcohol and other restricted items and retail to be our next 10^10 business at Uber.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving our U.S. and Canada strategy, and program leading key work streams critical to achieving that goal. You will work with senior leadership to define our strategy for the US&C markets, lead key initiatives together with other cross-functional and operational teams, and drive a culture based on insights and customer centricity. You will also own our planning processes, governance mechanisms and regular communication cadences.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
1. Strategy: Work closely with the Ops and Sales leadership, and other cross-fuctional teams across U.S. and Canada, to align and iterate on overall go-to-strategy and vision for New Verticals including Delivery as a Service (DaaS) in the market
2. Planning: Build and maintain financial and headcount models, operational reporting, OKRs, projections, and key business metrics to inform the leadership and the entire org of where the business stands
3. Program/Project Management: Be a resourceful, go-getting multitasker, supporting initiatives across the region by working with cross-functional partners the U.S. and Canada
4. Process Improvement: Identify the biggest operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risks using our internal data and deliver solutions
5. Analytics and Scale: Build, maintain, and communicate detailed reporting models to assist city-level, regional, and expansion efforts, and make decisions based on data
6. Relationships: Collaborate with other functional areas (Product, Engineering, Business Development, People Operations, Product, Legal, Finance, Rides, Eats, Nemo etc.) to ensure efficient and productive working relationships
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 8+ years of professional work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in investment banking, consulting, business intelligence / strategy, or in a start-up environment• BA or MA in Economics, Business, or Computer Science preferred. Bonus points if you have an MBA• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with exposure to senior partners, cross-functional teams and global teams• Sophisticated analytical capabilities, including knowledge of statistics and comfort in partnering with SQL, R and/or Python experts• Experience in defining solutions to complex, strategic topics with a deeply analytical approach to issues• Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well• Self-starter - the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role• Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away
