About the Role
In this role, you’ll be a part of the Data Science and Machine Learning team that collaborates to combat fraud, improves member experience, creates recommendations for users and much more . You’ll serve ML models in production and help build the infrastructure to train, deploy, track and measure them.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build integrations for delivering data to and from machine learning models
- Scale up labeling infrastructure to support more per-transaction inference, sticking to tight latency requirements
- Build CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models and systems
- Lead and build scalable infrastructure and engineering tools for the ML team
- Assist with on-call to monitor and resolve issues for ML systems in production
- Build out the real time and offline feature datastores that power machine learning inference at Chime
- Implement model-serving systems to accelerate promoting models to production
- Expand and contribute to our metrics, visualization, and model monitoring infrastructure
Requirements
- 5+ years of building distributed systems and/or scalable backend systems and the ability to maintain such systems in production
- Experience working with various data infrastructure technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Redis, SQL and NoSQL datastores, and AWS, among many others
- Experience working with CI/CD and orchestration technologies such as Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and CircleCI
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or comparable languages
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of SQL and the ability to wrangle data between many varied datastores (e.g. Cassandra, MySQL, Postgres, Snowflake)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals - understanding of data structures and algorithms, time complexity, and ability to maintain a test suite and write clear, maintainable code
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction, and willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques/tools
