Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

We’re looking for driven professionals to lead Affirm’s international expansion strategy. You will be responsible for operationalizing our international GTM strategy through cross-functional team alignment and driving quantitative and qualitative analysis needed to support the business case of key initiatives that drive the key goals and KPIs of the Affirm’s core growth projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as interpersonal skills to work across the organization and with clients to drive forward recommendations.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate and build business cases to identify new geographic opportunities for Affirm with responsibilities including:
  • Understanding legal and compliance requirements
  • Understanding market dynamics to help inform a recommendation
  • Working cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Merchant Pricing, Marketing, Sales, Credit, Capital Markets, Client Success, Data Science, Legal & Compliance, and Partnerships to understand revenue and cost factors to create an investment proposal (P&L)
  • Identifying the proposed entry strategy (build/buy/partner) for the proposed market
  • Align with executives on key considerations and concerns for entering a new market
  • Champion cross-functional initiatives project management from concept to rollout by defining and tracking work-streams, involving relevant partners and orchestrating progress on quarterly and annual priorities
  • Become a key project liaison to execute the recommended entry strategy and scale operations with potential responsibilities including:
  • Crafting a localized target operating model for the country subsidiary to ensure smooth subsidiary transition into the parent company
  • Project-managing workstreams to ensure we hit our deadlines
  • Developing detailed forecasts; lead the business line P&L to track top-line/ bottom line critical metrics on a monthly basis
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale operations
  • Partaking in potential external research and vendor calls to validate demand and ability to operate in a separate country
  • Conduct custom analysis on complex and open-ended questions and present findings in a clear and concise manner to cross-functional partners
  • Build thoughtful and succinct presentations to communicate the performance and progress of programs / products related to Core Growth and the team’s key work-streams
  • Become a SME in the retail POS financing and e-commerce space while understanding the competitive landscape and market dynamics

What we look for

  • Passion to disrupt both the retail and lending industry for the better
  • 4+ years of experience within investment banking, management consulting, private equity, and ideally more recent experience in strategy/business operations/strategic finance functions at a high-growth technology company
  • An interest in finding insights in data and driving rapid execution based on those insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must
  • Ability to think creatively and critically while thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment
  • Solid understanding of analytical tools, such as SQL, Python and Excel
  • Collaboration - you go out of your way to help teammates; you win when the team wins!

Location

We’re excited to announce that Affirm is now a remote-first company! This role can be located anywhere in the U.S. and Canada (with the exception of Quebec). Remote based employees may occasionally travel to an Affirm office for meetings or team building events. Our offices in San Francisco, New York City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Salt Lake City will remain operational and accessible for anyone to use on a voluntary basis.
