About the Senior Business Data Management Analyst

We’re looking for a versatile and innovative Data Management practitioner with experience in Data Governance, business ownership/stewardship, and Data Quality. You will lead and partner with cross-functional teams around Varo to implement data best practices and enable optimization of data usage with the latest technology.

A unique opportunity to build a strong foundation for the organization to enable Varo to become a truly data-driven company, without the constraints of legacy infrastructure. 

What you'll do

• Partner with business and product groups to define data solutions and business data requirements, powering agile product delivery and analytics with quality data 
• Lead the rollout of business data ownership & stewardship across Varo, enabling business users to implement agile Data Management and stewardship practices in product development processes and models (critical data and KPI definition, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Master and Reference data usage)
• Own and lead key cross-functional data projects such as model data management, records management or data sharing. 
• Advocate for use of trusted data and sound data governance practices, contributing towards increasing data literacy across the organization.
• Define and implement data standards, guidelines & training materials as needed.
• Serve as a point of contact for interactions with Business groups, Information
• Technology and Data Governance to achieve regulatory and corporate compliance.

Required skills, experiences, and traits

• 3+ years of varied Data Management/Governance experience
• Ability to quickly grasp varied business processes across Retail, Lending, Operations, and Risk groups
• Understanding of data ownership & stewardship processes and their practical application to business products. 
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with cross-functional teams around Varo
