What we are looking for:

This is a leadership role overseeing a growing team of designers and art directors focused on introducing MasterClass to the world and inspiring everyone to learn from the best. 

We’re looking for an ACD Design Lead: someone with a proven track record in leading a team through the creation of world-class communication design solutions that inspire action and move perceptions. Whether we’re creating traditional advertising campaigns, interactive web experiences, social campaigns, internal manifestos, or printed materials, the ACD Design Lead will be instrumental in presenting our story to the world. 

The ideal candidate for this role is a designer and art director by heart and by trade. As a designer, this person is a master of all forms and mediums and is equally excited to develop the visual concept for a TV script, design a landing page or OOH spread, or be the creative lead working with an editor and motion graphics artist on the creation of a short form video. We are looking for someone who is able to lead by example and whose work shows exceptional craftsmanship.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong creative leader with experience leading teams of designers, copywriters, editors, and motion graphics artists through the concept development and design process for high-level campaigns and initiatives.
  • Empathetic team leader with strong experience managing a team of designers, art directors and production artists
  • An extremely passionate creative who possesses great collaboration skills and leads with optimism.
  • Agency and In-House Experience

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Manages and directs a growing team of designers and art directors
  • Strong prioritization, delegation, and decision-making skills
  • Develop and evolve brand guidelines, style guides, and processes necessary to execute our brand strategy and deliver consistent brand experiences both online and offline
  • Drives initiatives that improve brand design processes and visual aesthetics
  • A keen understanding of audiences needs, motivations and aspirations
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with an internal team of producers, copywriters, editors and brand strategists as well as lead and direct outside creative agencies  
  • Optimistically prioritize, juggle multiple tasks, take direction, and pivot 
  • Present and iterate within project parameters: internal goals, technical/budget/time constraints

Requirements:

  • A top-class visual portfolio that shows strong design direction, cross-functional creative solutions, concept development, art direction prowess and solid design fundamentals. 
  • A comprehensive understanding of traditional and digital design methodologies
  • Ability to lead a creative vision from concept through to delivery 
  • Strong prioritization, delegation, and decision making skills
  • Proficient use of the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and management tools.
  • Experience creative directing designers, art directors, production artists. 
  • A strong desire for personal growth, empathy, and ability to level up those around you
  • Experience building out and evolving brand design systems
  • Great presentation skills with the ability to explain your creative vision and listen to feedback
  • Experience working closely with product design teams
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
