Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

Have you ever found yourself rewriting onboarding tours, in-app tips, or product tutorials in your head? Do you care about the voice and tone? Perhaps you are passionate about the quality, clarity of the documentation to help people get $#!t done! Do you consider information to be a powerful and essential element of a user's experience? If so, joining Atlassian's Content Design team might be for you.

This role will advance our mission to unleash the potential in every team and lay the foundations that underpin the success of Atlassian’s cloud business. This team is integral to making the Atlassian platform truly self-serve by knowing our audience and helping them utilize core Atlassian platform capabilities. In other words, this isn't a traditional technical writing role.

In This Role You'll Get To:

  • Work directly with the platform, design system, brand, marketing, product management, and support teams; help improve the way our users experience their entire product journey
  • Help form an adaptable content design process across multiple streams of work
  • Experiment with different approaches to information in the UI, documentation, supporting materials, and anywhere else our customers experience information
  • Build exceptional experiences that quickly and clearly demonstrate the potential our products unlock for all teams

When you join the team, you’ll be expected to have:

  • Ability to think beyond traditional software documentation and see the broader outlines of the content strategy
  • A growth mentality that balances data-informed insights alongside synthesizing customer research streams in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to identify, analyze, and manage relationships with and between partners
  • Experience engaging technical audiences across several channels
  • Strong storytelling skills and a flexible, friendly approach to team collaboration.

And have strong experience with:

  • Following and contributing back to content design systems
  • Writing high-quality documentation while maintaining a consistent voice and tone
  • Applying content strategy techniques such as auditing, identifying common patterns, able to test concepts, information architecture
  • Educating other content creators, testing and validating content, engaging with product managers, developers, and designers
