About The Role & Team

You will work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Professional Services, Platform Support and Product Engineering to develop training content that is extensible, modular and that suits delivery in multiple modalities: on-demand, VILT, and classroom. Your practical skillset in all Amplitude Products, combined with a solid grounding in ADDIE and/or SAMs (Successive Approximation Modeling) development methodology, Bloom’s Taxonomy of Knowledge, performance-based training concepts are essential for this role. If you are able to create and deliver training and familiar with product analytics or the product development process, you are ideal for this position.


 As our Instructional Designer / Training Analyst, you will: 

  • Evaluate each product’s learning needs, balance each project’s optimal learning requirements against existing materials and Amplitude’s Help Center articles, and create engaging courses align with a learning objective-based curriculum.
  • Design and deliver courses/tutorials in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation/simulation technologies to support curriculum offerings.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and others across the organization to create accurate, useful training modules for classroom and online courses.
  • Create project plans and provide accurate risk assessments for all projects; meet deadlines and reprioritize as needed to complete timely delivery of instructional design project; manage course projects from inception to completion.
  • Publish completed content into Learning Management Systems; Wistia | Vimeo; and embedding of playback content in Zendesk or other portals.


You'll be a great addition to the team if you:

  • Have 3+ years of instructional design and/or content development experience and solid knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Possess expert-level skills in Google Slides, Keynote, PowerPoint, Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate, Storyline, or other content development tool(s). Audio and video production a big plus; portfolio required.
  • Have experience with product development and/or analytics platforms.
  • Have experience with industry-standard tools for online documentation development and delivery, and tools appropriate to develop synchronous and asynchronous training content.
  • Have knowledge of webserver technology and SaaS. Experience with some programming and scripting language is desired, i.e. HTML, Javascript, Python.
  • Have proven project and time management skills in an environment where you may be contributing to several projects simultaneously.
