The design team at Plaid is made up of service designers, interaction designers, writers, visual designers and researchers who work hand in hand with our peers in marketing, product management and engineering to create Plaid’s market defining products.

What you'll do here:

We’re looking for a designer to join the Developer Experience team. Here, you’ll spend time understanding our incredibly diverse developer community, driving insights and ideas for how we can continue to serve them. You’ll get to work on products that help developers make the next amazing fintech app, from their first interaction with our API to scaling their integration.

• Identifying and solving problems for developers and builders, working in small start-ups to enterprises
• Building and iterating on our developer Dashboards, APIs, Onboarding experience, and Documentation
• Working in a product-minded culture that rapidly moves from creative concepts to concrete solutions
• Closely collaborating with engineering, product and business teams on strategy, from definition to execution
• Working with design systems to bring uniformity across all our products and platforms
• Contributing to our design culture through collaboration, presenting work and sharing feedback
• Producing high quality work from wireframes and user flows to pixel perfect design with delightful interactions

• The ability to express complex flows simply, and illustrate user needs across multi-touch points
• Being a tireless advocate for users and user-centered processes
• Having a divergent exploratory process with the ability to communicate trade-offs
• Solid understanding of how to create usable, accessible, and modular designs
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools for prototyping and visualizing your ideas
• 3-5 years of experience creating and shipping software
• Ability to communicate and contribute ideas across all levels of design
• A proven record of collaboration with cross-functional partners in Product and Engineering
• A strong penchant for utilizing user insights and metrics to guide design decisions
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, React, Python, and other back-end languages for Engineering and Design collaboration
• Relevant experience in B2B, Enterprise tools, or API products is a plus
